We have reach the six month mark of increased travel.  We even had a chance to ride on top of an elevator car (in training) on 12/20 in a high-rise-building in down town Dallas...some 30-floors.  If that doesn't get your camp-fire-burning, your wood is wet.  All is well and it looks like Lerch Bates is going to keep me around; we have almost 13 million dollars our for bid in the Middle-East, so 2012 will be very busy -- Lord willing.  Our families are doing well and growing; God has truly been good.

Until next time 2012...have a great holiday.
John

Announcement:

10/17/2011

Well...made it through my 90-day review at Lerch Bates...Praise the Lord.  These last 90-days have been very busy.  We have completed a multitude of proposals for future pipeline (future work that needs execution); many of which are in some foreign country that I cannot remember how to pernounce.  All I know, it is future work that needs to be acquired by the end of this year to keep me busy in 2012.  Pray that my closure rate increases.

I need to learn how to balance between Marketing for new work and Execution of existing contracts; without, work hours are very long trying to complete both.  All is well and moving forward, even though I need to separate these two areas.

Travel is increasing; as we sit here typing this entry, I am at Love Field Dallas, TX waiting on the boarding call for a San Antonio / Houston week of work.  Marketing is the key task for this week; seeing 6-7 Architects between San Antonio and Houston to share Lerch Bates' capabilities in Materials Management / Materials Handling, for which I am responsible.  Many of the Architects know about Vertical Transport within Lerch Bates, but Healthcare Management is new to them and Lerch Bates.

As a side note - my foot is doing great; have been in a shoe for the past 2-3 months to cover the territory assigned.  That is a good thing, since we will be in Nashville, TN next month for a Healthcare Conference...standing / manning a booth for several hours.

Well, they are boarding and need to post this entry.  Talk to you all later.

As you can see by the date, I have been away from Mercy Ships since 16-June-2011. My new position with Lerch Bates has been very satisfying; travel and long hours seems to be the norm, but I am enjoying every minute.

So far I have been assigned projects in California, Texas, Nevada, and even have a possibility in the spring for a project in UAE.  Travel has taken me to Houston, Dallas, Orlando, Tampa, and California; with Nashville, North / South Carolina, and Georgia before the end of the year.

Projects:

A 2,800 bed health care facility prison in Stockton, CA., having a Warehouse outside the wire for all materials.

A 600 bed health care retirement facility in Las Vegas, NV.

The UAE project in the spring represents 5 new hospitals within a 10 kilometer area having a central warehouse to deliver materials underground through tunnels.

I will also be working on the New Parkland Logistic Facility in Dallas to replace the existing Parkland facility (the hospital Kennedy went to after he was shot).  This facility is so large it has its own transit stop.

Lerch Bates also offere Lunch and Learns to Architects; so far I have been involved with 7 from Florida to Texas.  More to come and much more to execute!

Until next time,

John

Change in Direction for Serving Him
16-June-2011

On the 16th of June I accepted a position with Lerch Bates1 as their Project Manager covering a four state territory.  In addition to this primary territory I will also be helping them build other states within the USA and around the world.

My primary responsibility is within Materials Management / Material Handling within the Healthcare market place, but not exclusive to just the hospital.  To outline all that I would be doing with them would take more then this page could offer; therefore, the following link reflects the Lerch Bates' website for you to look out.

Please continue to pray for my opportunities to expand this territory.  The task is great and I can't do it without you and God's help!  I will be posting His leading in the near future, so please check back.

Feel free to contact us through our Contact Us Tab:     hensman.john@gmail.com

I leave you with this...Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight (Proverbs 3:5-6).  This is what I believe drives me; knowing that I can't do anything without His strength, mercy, grace, and love.

1  Lerch Bates Materials Handling services address the movement of bulk and unit materials throughout new and existing facilities.  We assist in evaluating the needs of material transport systems; developing designs; creating equipment plans and generating specifications to ensure competitive bids and cost-effective operations.
